Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias to visit Armenia (Yerevan, 27.09.2022)

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias will travel to Yerevan tomorrow, Tuesday, September 27, where he will meet with senior Armenian officials.

More specifically, the Minister will have a one-on-one meeting with the Foreign Minister of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, followed by expanded talks.

Joint statements to the press will follow at approximately 13:20 (Greek time).

The two Foreign Ministers met last week in New York in the framework of the 77th UN General Assembly High-Level Week, where the Greece-Cyprus-Armenia Trilateral Meeting was held.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs will then be received by Armenia’s Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan. Armenian Defence Minister, Suren Papikyan will also attend this meeting.

The Minister’s visit to Armenia will conclude with a working lunch hosted by the Armenian Foreign Minister for his Greek counterpart.

During the above-mentioned meetings, talks will focus on issues of bilateral, regional, and international interest, with emphasis on current developments in the Caucasus region and the Eastern Mediterranean, on cooperation between the two countries in the framework of trilateral cooperation schemes, as well as on EU-Armenia relations.

This will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs’ second visit to Armenia in less than two years. The Minister’s first visit to Yerevan took place on 16.10.2020.
