Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias will meet with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Péter Szijjártó tomorrow, Tuesday, June 22, 2022, in Athens, on the latter’s first visit to Greece since his reappointment as Foreign Minister in the Hungarian Government elected on April 3, 2022.
The two Ministers will hold a one-on-one meeting at 13:00
Joint statements to the press will take place at approximately 13:25, followed by a working lunch.
Talks between the two Ministers are expected to focus on bilateral cooperation, EU-related topics, energy issues, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the European perspective of the Western Balkans.
It is noted that Péter Szijjártó visited Athens in October 2021, again in his capacity as Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and member of the previous Hungarian Government. This was preceded by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias’ visit to Budapest in October 2020.
