Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ congratulatory letter to his Estonian counterpart, Eva-Maria Liimets on the 100st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Greece and Estonia (19.05.2022)

“Dear Colleague, dear Eva-Maria,

In 2022, Greece and Estonia commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations, which are based on common values and principles, namely democracy and the respect of international law.

The upcoming visit of Her Excellency the President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou on May 30th in your country, as well as the following visit of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in July, stands as a landmark that will give us the opportunity to reconfirm the bonds between our two countries and to recommit into building our ties even stronger.

Furthermore, as partners and allies, I stand ready to continue working closely with you in European, Euro-Atlantic and international fora, for promoting peace and stability in the European neighborhood and beyond, as well as enhancing our partnership on issues of common interest.

After the recovery from the pandemic, there are opportunities to further deepen our cooperation, among others, in the fields of digital technology, tourism, renewable energies and information technologies.

Please accept, dear Colleague, the assurances of my highest consideration and deep personal esteem.

Sincerely,
Nikos S. Dendias”
