Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ address at the online event “Albania and Greece Relations: what do citizens think”, organized by ELIAMEP (Athens, 29.06.2021)

Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias addressed, via video recorded message, the online event on Greek-Albanian relations themed “Albania and Greece Relations: what do citizens think”, organized by ELIAMEP, in cooperation with the Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA).

In his speech, the Minister referred to the historical ties between the two countries, as well as the contribution of the Greek National Minority and of the Albanian citizens living and prospering in Greece to building a solid bridge of friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Dendias also stressed that Greece and Albania are opening a new chapter in their bilateral relations with their decision to have recourse to the International Court of Justice in The Hague on the delimitation of the exclusive economic zone and he reiterated that Greece supports Albania’s European perspective. Finally, he referred to the donation of 20,000 vaccines to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
