Tourism Minister in KZN for Mandela Museum Exhibition Centre launch
Government efforts to boost tourism in the country will culminate in the official launch of the Mandela multi-purpose exhibition centre on Tuesday, 11 February 2020 located in the Nelson Mandela Capture Site Precinct near Howick, KwaZulu-Natal.
The Minister of Tourism, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, will join KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala and MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Sipho Hlomuka for this momentous occasion, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of Former President Nelson Mandela’s release from prison.
The Department of Tourism will fund the phased upgrading of the Nelson Mandela Capture Site to cover the construction of the driveway, parking, landscaping, fencing and entrance gate. The intention is that this Precinct will not just be a major tourist drawcard, but will become an iconic attraction, based on quality assured products to enhance the visitor experience and be globally competitive.
