Pretoria: Mineral Resources Minister Susan Shabangu and her Deputy Godfrey Oliphant has conveyed their heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Dr Frans Barker who passed on this week.
According to Minister Shabangu, the late Dr Barker was one of the South African mining industry’s most astute and dedicated colleague.
“Frans was such a dedicated colleague, eager to get to a solution yet he was very calm during hard times.
“His contribution to the mining industry will forever continue to guide us as we again as the sector face challenges. His expertise contributed immensely in moving us forward and for that we will sorely miss him,” Shabangu said.
She said the department joined with so many others that knew Dr. Barker in mourning and extended its deepest sympathy for his passing.
