MEC Ismail Vadi officially opens upgraded Cedar Road, 30 Jan

Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Dr Ismail Vadi, will on Tuesday, 30 January 2018 officially open the upgraded Cedar Road in Fourways, Johannesburg.

The R80 million road project – a Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the Department and the Steyn City Development – involved the widening of Cedar Road into a dual carriageway, construction of new pavement layers, pedestrian walkways and upgrading of the storm-water system.

Cedar road forms part of the provincial road network and acts as an inter-urban collector for surrounding townships.

The road experiences a mix of light and heavy vehicle traffic, primarily related to transportation of building materials from northern outskirts of Johannesburg.
