Makueni, Kenya - A Makueni court has fined a local man, Muange Kiilu, Sh 10,000 or an alternative of 3 months in prison for stealing paint. The stolen items had a value of Sh 8,600, as determined by the court during the proceedings.

According to a new release by Kenya News Agency, the accused appeared before Senior Resident Magistrate Martin Mutua and pleaded guilty to the theft, which occurred on October 24, 2023. The court learned that Kiilu stole two 4-liter tins of paint from his employer, Morris Ilai Muunda, at Kitise market in Kathozweni Subcounty. Mutua announced that the accused has 14 days to appeal the sentence.
