RUNDU: The case of a 40 year-old man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend thrice with a knife over the weekend was postponed to 04 December this year for further police investigations.
Paulus Shuboyo, a taxi driver from Rundu, briefly appeared before Magistrate Hellen Olaiya on Tuesday on charges of attempted murder.
After being informed of rights to engage a legal representation of his own choice, Shuboyo was not asked to plead and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.
The female Namibian Police Force (NamPol) officer is battling for her life in the Rundu State Hospital after she was allegedly stabbed thrice by her boyfriend here on Saturday.
The incident, which attracted a huge crowd, occurred at the Sauyemwa informal settlement on the outskirts of Rundu.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Kavango Region, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton earlier told this reporter that Natalia Ndara, who is attached to the charge office here, was stabbed underneath her breast, on her back and on her right leg.
Deputy Commissioner Bampton said the motive behind the stabbing has not been established yet as Ndara is at this stage unable to talk.
She was admitted to the Rundu State Hospital after the attack, and was thereafter transferred to a hospital in Windhoek.
