OPUWO: A 46-year-old man died in a car accident on the gravel road between Uis and Khorixas on Sunday after he lost control over the vehicle he was driving, and it overturned.
According to the Namibian Police Force’s crime report of Monday, the vehicle was travelling from Farm Weldeurede to Khorixas when the incident happened at around 16h30.
The deceased driver has been identified as Bernatitus Bannie Birisamub.
He died on the spot after he was thrown out of the vehicle when it rolled.
One of the two passengers, Moses Gurirab, sustained serious injuries to his head and right arm, and was transferred from the Khorixas State Hospital to the Katutura State Hospital on the same day.
The second passenger, Aggasi Aibman Gariseb, survived the accident with minor injuries.
Birisamub’s next of kin have been informed.
