RUNDU: The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kavango region are hot on the trails of a 30-year-old man who allegedly disappeared with cash totalling N.dollars 150 000 which he took out from a jackpot machine on Tuesday.
He was supposed to deposit the money at the bank on Wednesday, but failed to do so.
NamPol’s Kavango Regional Crime Investigations’ Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton informed Nampa on Thursday that the suspect was employed to work in the bar, but took the money from a jackpot machine in Cocktail Bar in Rundu and fled.
Bampton said according to information which they received, the suspect – whose name is name – is trying to flee to neighbouring South Africa, but apparently he doesn’t know which route to take.
The police have, however, notified all checkpoints and border posts in the country.
