OPUWO: The Kunene Health Directorate on Friday received 10 vehicles from the Ministry of Health and Social Services to improve health delivery in the region.
The vehicles were handed over by the Governor of the Kunene Region, Josua //Hoebeb to the Director of Health for Kunene, Thomas Shapumba.
These 10 vehicles include five Land Cruisers, one truck which was converted into a mobile clinic, and four minibuses to be used for transporting patients and staff members.
Speaking at the occasion, //Hoebeb called on the region’s health employees to take good care of the vehicles, and to use them to the benefit the whole community.
Shapumba, meanwhile, said they can now conduct outreach services in areas which are far from clinics, and conduct immunisation in those areas which were hard to reach in the past.
