The election was done by secret ballot paper, whereby 54 delegates from all 10 branches nominated candidates and voted.
Kauhondamwa received the majority of the votes (32), and competitor, John Paulus, 22.
Heita urged all the district branch and section leaderships in the Erongo Region to unite, be disciplined, respect and be loyal to the party.
“An excellent leader should show qualities of integrity, courage and persistence,” he indicated.
He further said members should be committed to the activities in their structures and should pay their annual fees on time, as well as to recruit more members.
“Let us distance ourselves from promoting ourselves as ministry of tribe and division among party members,” he said.
