IUM student burned to death in Otjomuise

WINDHOEK: A body of a student at International University of Management (IUM) Eliakim Kandali Inane (31) was burnt at Otjomuise area at about 09h00 on Saturday.

The body was found by an woman who spotted blood stain in the area and investigated further as reported the matter to the Namibia Police (NamPol) station, Nampol Khomas Crime Coordinator Deputy Commissioner Sylvanus Nghishindimbwa told the media here on Sunday.

Nghishindimbwa said upon the police investigation and close examination found out the burnt tax vehicle few kilometer from the body and it is suspected that Inane was a driver of the vehicle.

According to the relative who identify the body of Inane at the police mortuary, Inane was helping out the brother driving as a tax drive since Friday.

Nghishindimbwa confirmed that the body was cut as found blood and razes near the body.

Police is suspecting that the incident took place in the early hours of Saturday as the burnt were fresh.

Police investigations continue to trace the suspect/s in connection to this incident.

In a separate incident Riano Abraham 21 was killed by an elder brother (30) at Uses Farm in Rehoboth area on Sunday at about 00h00.

The incident happen as a result of argument while drinking together.

The suspect is expected to appear in Rehoboth Magistrate Court on Monday.

In Rehoboth, Block E location a young male Levi Khoeb stabbed to death with a sharp object on Saturday at about 05h00 at a drinking place. The suspect was apprehended and expected to appear in Rehoboth Magistrate court on Monday.

According to Nghishindimbwa the police has recorded many assaults as result of alcohol over the weekended, thus urged all shebeen owners to close their business on time and avoid unnecessary incidents.
