WINDHOEK: The International University of Management (IUM) is celebrating its 10th anniversary next Friday.
IUM’s marketing and communications officer, Gloria Karita told Nampa upon inquiry here on Monday that different activities are lined up for the 10th anniversary celebrations of Namibia’s first private university.
The activities will commence with an opening ceremony at the university’s Dorado Campus next Monday, followed by a march from IUM’s City Campus in Bahnhoff Street through Independence Avenue and Mandume Ndemufayo Avenue back to the City Campus.
The march is aimed at sensitising the public about the establishment of IUM.
Karita further explained that the different cultures represented at IUM will showcase their traditional cuisines and members of the public will also showcase their products to encourage students who are studying entrepreneurship.
A number of sports activities including football, netball and volleyball have been scheduled for Tuesday. Students and staff members of the university will go up against each other in football matches for the Vice Chancellors’ Cup.
A one-day management and development seminar will also be held on Thursday, followed by the IUM graduation ceremony and a gala dinner on Friday.
