The Karasburg District Court has postponed the murder case of 19-year-old Claudine Veronica Binco to 12 September this year.
Binco, who was remanded in custody, stands accused of stabbing Mauricha Elbina Matroos, 23, to death last week.
The decision taken by Assistant Magistrate Christoline Bonita Isaacks to postpone the matter last Friday will allow Binco to apply for legal representation, and will also allow time for further police investigations into the matter.
Karasburg State Prosecutor Basson Lilungwe told Nampa upon enquiry today that the suspect will appear in a Periodical Court at Ariamsvlei.
The incident took place at Farm Herrachabis in the Ariamsvlei area, where the two had allegedly been fighting over alcohol.
Lilungwe said because of the seriousness of the case and the fact that the family of the deceased might take revenge on her, the court remanded her in custody.
