The impact of the war in Syria is becoming more “brutal and monstrous” on children, the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has said.
More than 20 children reportedly died in air strikes in the north of the country in Manbij, 80 kilometres to the east of Aleppo.
The agency estimates that 35,000 children are trapped in and around the province where violence has intensified in the past six weeks.
Juliette Touma, the UNICEF chief of communications for the Middle East and North Africa has been speaking to Reem Abaza.
