Zorgho: As the new year approaches, His Majesty Naba Sanem, customary chief of Zorgho, called for unity, forgiveness and solidarity for 2025. Faced with the challenges facing Burkina Faso, he urged the population to work for peace and social cohesion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, His Majesty emphasized the need for forgiveness and peace, highlighting that Burkina Faso has not experienced peace everywhere for several years. He urged the population to show forgiveness and unity to prevent destruction by adversaries.

Highlighting the consequences of insecurity on the country and its institutions, His Majesty remarked that without peace, there can be no development. He noted that even the role of a chief becomes insignificant in the absence of peace. He expressed concern over the plight of some traditional chiefs who have been forced to leave their localities due to insecurity.

His Majesty praised the efforts of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), encouraging them to continue their work to restore peace. He also called on the population to support national authorities in their efforts towards reconciliation, urging them to help the president and his team succeed in bringing peace to the country.

Addressing the youth, His Majesty advised moderation and responsibility during the end-of-year festivities, reminding them that the country is not yet at peace. He promised that once peace is achieved, everyone would have the opportunity to celebrate freely.
