WINDHOEK: An emergency rescue pick-up vehicle of the Ministry of Health and Social Services and a private Toyota Corolla sedan were involved in a road accident in the capital here on Tuesday morning.
The accident took place at the intersection of Independence Avenue and Fidel Castro Street.
The sedan was left badly damaged, while the pick-up was hit on the right-hand side at the back, but was not as badly damaged as the sedan.
It is suspected that the accident happened when one of the drivers jumped a red traffic light, said a member of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Traffic Division.
He told Nampa at the scene that no injuries were sustained during the accident.
The sedan was driven by a member of the Namibian Defence Force (NDF).
The two damaged vehicles were immediately towed away in efforts to clear the road for other motorists.
