MAHIKENG, SOUTH AFRICA– The Hawks, the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI), in South Africa’s North West Province, have confirmed that its officers have conducted a search and seizure operation at the offices of North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo.
Hawks spokesperson Captain Tlangelani Rikhotso Thursday that the operation followed investigations in relation to alleged maladministration, fraud and corruption involving a monetary value of approximately 160 million Rand (about 13.44 million US dollars).
Several documents, which will assist in the ongoing probe, were seized from different offices, Rikhotso said.
No arrest was made at this stage, pending further investigation.
Rikhotso said the probe is ongoing and thus they “cannot divulge any further information”.
