WINDHOEK: The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Namibia (Unam), Professor Lazarus Hangula on Tuesday lashed out at student teachers at the Khomasdal Campus for creating bad publicity for that campus.

“I would like to express my disappointment at those very few students of this campus who have been trying, now and then, to use any means to cause disruption and/or bad publicity for this otherwise very peaceful and law-abiding campus,” said Hangula during the inauguration of refurbished classrooms and halls at that campus in the capital.

He thus called on students to follow the right procedures when they have grievances.

Hangula warned students that in terms of the university’s laws, students engaging in unlawful activities can be detained, brought before disciplinary hearings, suspended and even expelled.

He noted that Unam students across all campuses throughout the country are generally disciplined, and if they have grievances, they follow the processes that are established by law.
