SWAKOPMUND: A total of 400 eager learners are attending the Erongo Region Grade 10 Spring School, which commenced here on Monday.

The five-day Grade 10 Spring School is taking place at Coastal High School.

Learners attending the Spring School will receive tutoring in eight subjects including English, physical science, life science, mathematics, geography, history, accounting and entrepreneurship.

Speaking during the official opening on Monday, Deputy Director of Education in the Erongo Region Mark Jacobs explained that the Spring School serves as an interaction by the Directorate of Education to ensure that the Erongo Region remains the number one region in the country.

He went on to say that the tutoring presented to the learners during the five days will help to maintain the success rate achieved by the Erongo Region in national examinations over the past few years.

“The Spring School will help to prepare you for the challenge that lies ahead. Therefore, the best teachers were selected to assist you in achieving excellence,” he told the Grade 10 learners.

Namsov Fishing Enterprises sponsored the Spring School with an amount of N.dollars 306 800. The Grade 10 Spring School follows the recent Grade 12 Erongo Spring School, which concluded on 24 August at the Swakopmund Secondary School.
