_: The North West provincial government is shocked by the untimely death of Ms Hlokwana Lina Mahlalela. The 109 year old Mahlalela died on Monday at her home in Rankelenyane village outside Rustenburg.
At the time of her untimely death, the provincial government has already contracted a foundation to build her a house following news paper article which was published by Sowetan which highlighted unbearable and hazardous conditions she was living in.
MEC for Human Settlements Public Safety and Liaison Honarable Nono Maloyi sends his heartfelt condolences to the relatives and family Mahlalela. “These are the sad news not only to the provincial government, but the entire Province and the country, this happens when we were in the process of restoring her dignity by building a house for her.
However as government we will continue to strive to better the lives of our elders. We will integrate with other government departments in ensuring that we continue to take good care of our elders,” said the heartbroken MEC Nono Maloyi.
