GIBEON: A 68-year-old man from the Gibeon area in the Hardap Region passed away on Wednesday after a snake bite.
The deceased, Piet Engelbrecht, was an employee at Farm Amberbo near Gibeon, where the snake bit him on one of his ankles at around 17h20 on Wednesday.
He was rushed to the Gibeon Clinic by other farmworkers, but passed away upon arrival at the clinic.
The Chief Inspector of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) at Mariental, Lot //Naobeb told Nampa today that it is not clear what type of snake it is, adding that all they know so far is that it is a yellow snake.
It was killed by the other farmworkers.
