RUNDU: The former Deputy Secretary of the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) in the Kavango Region, Moses Nyundu resigned from that party last month, but is allegedly refusing to give back his membership card.
Nyundu, a political and community activist, handed in his resignation on 15 January 2013 to the opposition party, and rejoined the ruling Swapo Party, which he left in 2008.
The RDP’s Kavango Regional Secretary, Kennedy Shekupakela, however, disputed Nyundu’s resignation, saying he has not received Nyundu’s resignation letter and membership card yet.
He said Nyundu should hand over his RDP membership card as it is the property of the party, and also for transparency purposes, which would prevent him from playing double-standard politics.
Approached for comment, Nyundu said he gave the resignation letter to Shekupakela’s wife, Rauna Shekupakela, so that she could forward it to her husband, and he will hand over his RDP membership card to the Swapo Party.
