Exhibition of diplomatic documents: “Greece-Romania, 140 years of diplomatic relations (1880-2020)”.

The Service of Diplomatic and Historical Archives of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in cooperation with the Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania and the Embassy of Romania in Athens, organizes an exhibition of diplomatic documents on the occasion of the completion of 140 years of diplomatic relations between Greece and Romania.

The exhibition was initially scheduled to be presented in 2020, on the anniversary of 140 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, but it was postponed due to the pandemic. It is consisted of diplomatic documents from the Archives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two states. It highlights important moments in the history of their diplomatic and consular relations, starting with a reference to the creation of the first consular Authority of Greece in Bucharest in 1834 and continuing with the accreditation of Ambassadors in Athens and Bucharest in 1880 and the establishment of full diplomatic relations.

The exhibition will be held from 1 until 15 July 2022 at the Byzantine and Christian Museum (22 Vas. Sofias Ave., 106 75 Athens, Evangelismos Metro Station. Opening Hours: Monday 08:00-20:00, Tuesday 13:00-20:00, Wednesday-Sunday 08:00-20:00).

The ceremony of the official opening of the exhibition will be held on Tuesday 5 July, at 20:00.
