BEIJING, The ruling Ethiopian Peoples’ Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) has called on political parties of Africa to enhance their capacity in building co-operation.
This call came from the EPRDF Deputy Chairman and the country’s Deputy Prime Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, during the three-day international consultancy forum of political parties organized by the Chinese Communist Party which ended on Sunday.
Speaking on behalf of African political parties at the China-Africa Consultative Forum, he urged African political parties to strengthen their ties. He stressed that the parties can consolidate their continental bonds through experience-sharing and other areas of co-operation.
Demeke also called on China to provide support in building internal democracy and leadership development.
The head of the Office of the EPRDF Counci, Shiferaw Shigute, informed the forum that the party had been strengthening co-operation with international co-operation partners.
The EPRDF would continue to collaborate with African political parties to ensure national and continental development by formulating common experiences of developing states.
