ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia will continue to further strengthen its role in improving Africa’s aviation industry, said President Mulatu Teshome wyen he held talks Wednesday with the visiting President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), Dr. Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu, at the National Palace here.

President Mulatu said Ethiopia would continue to help in building the capacity of African countries in the sector.

Aliu thanked the Ethiopian government for hosting the 2nd ICAO Meeting on Air Cargo Development in Africa now underway here and congratulated the government for doing its best to improve the level of civil aviation in the country.

Aliu said the country was giving support to neighbouring and other African countries in terms of training and capacity-building, adding that the ICAO was supporting Ethiopia so as to enable it to continue support for other African countries in the civil aviation sector.

The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Academy (ECAA) plays a leading role in training skilled airframe maintenance professionals for the country and for other African countries.
