NNA – Minister of Environment, Mohammad Mashnouq, on Friday indicated that the political environment in Lebanon was not sound, stressing that the development of the country requires the activation of the state institutions and the election of a new president of the republic.
“We must give back to the people the right to choose their representatives as should be,” he said.
The Minister visited today Wadi al-Hojeir natural reserve, upon the occasion of the end of the first stage of a campaign to plant one million trees in the South.
He was received by MP Ali Fayyad and a number of municipalities’ heads.
“Our eyes are on the South, and the enemy is there (…) we shall neither forget the South nor Palestine,” he said.
“Our eyes are also on Bekaa and north Bekaa where there is another battle against terrorism (…) this is a battle of survival for us,” he added.
“We must not manipulate the country while our national army is assuming a huge mission in the face of the terrorists in Bekaa and other regions,” he continued.
“We must also consecrate the liberation of the South by the Resistance through protecting Lebanon from terrorism and reinforcing the constitutional institutions,” he concluded.
