Community members arrested during the Ficksburg unrest appeared in the Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court today.
Eleven people charged with public violence, aged between 20 and 49 years old, were arrested during the unrest in Meqheleng, Ficksburg on Thursday 25 May 2023. They appeared in the Ficksburg Magistrates’ Court today. They are out on free bail and warned to appear on 28 June 2023.
The situation is tense but under control, as members of the Public Order Police Unit are still deployed in the area.
