RIETFONTEIN: Founding President Dr Sam Nujoma today called on the Namibian youth to acquire agricultural scientific methods to produce enough food to feed the whole nation.
Nujoma was speaking at the National Youth Service’s (NYS) Centre at Rietfontein before touring the centre to assess developments underway.
The NYS Rietfontein Centre is a youth project, which Nujoma initiated during his reign as Head of State in a quest to combat youth unemployment in the country.
Nujoma, together with the Minister of Youth, National Service, Sports and Culture Jerry Ekandjo, Swapo-Party Youth League (SPYL) Secretary-General Dr Elijah Ngurare and NYS Board chairperson Mandela Kapere, amongst others, toured the youth centre.
He said the centre was established so that the youth receive scientific training from it in various fields, and urged the youth to acquire some agricultural scientific knowledge for them to be able to produce enough food for all Namibian people.
