Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis, to visit Egypt and participate in the trilateral meeting between Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt on Diaspora issues (14 – 17.11.2022)

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andreas Katsaniotis, will visit Egypt from 14 to 17 November 2022. In Cairo, he will hold a meeting with his Egyptian counterpart, Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Soha Gendy, in a trilateral format with the Cypriot Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots, Fotis Fotiou. The Greece-Cyprus-Egypt meeting follows the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the three countries in the Diaspora sector in October 2021 in Greece and aims to expand trilateral cooperation.

The Deputy Minister will then travel to Alexandria to meet with His Beatitude Theodore II, Pope, and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa. He will also have a series of contacts with Diaspora institutions in both Cairo and Alexandria. Lastly, he will visit the Holy Monastery of St Catherine of Sinai and hold a meeting with the Governor of South Sinai.
