The Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Mr Enver Surty will tomorrow, Thursday, 3 November 2016 through the Accelerated Schools Infrastructure Development Initiative (ASIDI), hand over the Vooruitsig Primary School in Uitsig, Western Cape.
Built at a cost of R66 Million, the school will welcome its 1535 learners to this state of the art building which boasts 31 classrooms, a Grade R centre, science laboratory, computer lab, resource centre as well as a multipurpose hall and nutrition centre.
This will mark the 178th state-of-the-art schools build as part of ASIDI since inception of the programme in 2011, this following the successful handover of Mxhume and Luxeni Secondary Schools in the Eastern Cape at the end of last week.
Furthermore the initiative has provided water to 617 schools, sanitation to 425 schools and electricity to 307 schools that previously had no access to these basic amenities.
