WINDHOEK: The 2013 Namibia Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS 2013) will be conducted in all 13 regions of the country as from April 2013.
Survey teams will be visiting selected households, administering questionnaires and conducting interviews with eligible men and women in the selected households.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), Andrew Ndishishi, said in a media statement issued today that survey teams will comprise of a nurse, who will be collecting blood samples and measuring the blood pressure of eligible members in the selected households.
He said the survey teams should obtain informed consent from the respondents prior to the interview and blood sample collection and participation in the survey is voluntary, while confidentiality and anonymity of the information and blood samples collected will be ensured.
Furthermore, the survey will provide prevalence levels of HIV, anaemia and high blood pressure at national and regional levels.
