A daylight attack in Sydney’s west left a man in hospital with gunshot wounds and the gunman on the run on Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses reported that a man in a white car wearing a black mask was seen approaching another man on Steel Street in South Granville, before hearing two gunshots ring out.
“We saw a man lying on the ground, with a bullet to his leg and his bum,” a witness told Channel 7.
She said the victim was crying, but told neighbours he was okay.
“It’s really worrying for my family because nothing happens around here, and we’re worried that the man could come back and shoot other people,” the same witness told Channel 9.
Emergency services were called to the street just after 1.20pm, and treated the man at the scene before transporting him to Westmead Hospital.
The man’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Investigations are underway and police are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
