Bellair police are searching for three dangerous criminals who escaped from the police cells on 26 July 2015.
Yesterday, police officers were conducting their routine-check at the police cells when they discovered that Vusi Gumede, Bheki Nkosi and Siya Dlamini had escaped. Detainees allegedly dug a hole in the wall of their cell.
Gumede was arrested for murder, Nkosi was detained for possession of firearm and Dlamini was arrested for possession of stolen property.
A case of escaping from lawful custody has been opened at Bellair police station for investigation.
These criminals are dangerous and we plead with the community not to try to apprehend them but contact the police as soon as possible.

KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni, condemned the escaping of the detainees. “We will make sure that we catch and arrest these criminals, we will use all our resources and expertise to put them behind bars so that they can face the consequences of their actions”, she said.
