Cut free and airlifted to hospital after Devon crash

A motorist was cut free three using three sets of hydraulic equipment after a two car crash which closed a Devon road for eight hours into the early hours of this morning.

Three crews were sent to the A3072 at Holsworthy just after 7pm on Tuesday.

Crews found a two-vehicle crash with one person still trapped inside.

They got to work to assist in the extrication of the casualty using three sets of Hydraulic Cutting Equipment and Small Tools.

Fire crews also administered Oxygen Therapy and Entonox to the casualty, who was then airlifted to hospital.

Devon County Council confirmed the road was reopen at 3am.
