The announcement by the Cuban government to provide health professionals to help tackle the Ebola outbreak in West Africa has been welcomed by the UN health agency.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) there are now more than 4, 000 people infected by Ebola and over 2,000 have died in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The professionals being offered by Cuba who include doctors, nurses, epidemiologists and specialists in infection control and intensive care will be concentrated in Sierra Leone.
