China Calls for Strengthening SCO Economic and Trade Cooperation

Beijing: Gao Yunlong, chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, emphasized the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) during the opening session of the SCO business forum in Beijing.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Gao, who also serves as vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, highlighted economic and trade cooperation as a vital engine for the SCO's development. He expressed China's readiness to collaborate with other members to better align regional development strategies, improve the quality and level of economic and trade cooperation, and maintain stable and efficient industrial and supply chains.

Gao underlined that these initiatives aim to foster an SCO community with a shared future, contributing to global peace and prosperity. The forum, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, saw participation from nearly 400 representatives from government institutions and the business sector, both domestically and internationally.
