WINDHOEK: The sudden chill experienced this morning is expected to continue during the course of this week and over to the weekend.
Weather forecaster at the Namibia Meteorological Service, Simon Dirkse told Nampa today that it will be cold over the weekend, but not as cold as during the week.
Several towns and villages in the country experienced minus one and minus two degrees Celsius over the past two days.
According to the weather forecast for tomorrow, maximum temperatures are expected to start recovering due to the establishment of a high-pressure system over the southern parts of the country.
Due to a tight pressure gradient, strong south-easterly to southerly winds will prevail over the coastal areas on Wednesday, with sunny weather conditions over most of the coastal towns, it said.
With the southerly wind flow, more cold air will be pushed into the interior, hence temperatures are expected to continue dropping over the southern half tomorrow.
