Burkinabè Researcher Proposes Groundbreaking Deep Water Project to Minister

Ouagadougou – In a significant development for water resource management in Burkina Faso, researcher Mamadou Dango presented an ambitious drinking water project to Minister Bassolma Bazié. The project focuses on utilizing deep water sources to provide sustainable water supply for up to 148 years.

According to Burkina Information Agency, known for his interests in Egyptology and ancient monuments, was received in audience by the Minister of State, Minister of the Civil Service. Dango, a geophysicist, proposed the establishment of a major infrastructure to access drinking water from deep sources. He assured that this water supply would be sufficient to serve a city of approximately 48,000 inhabitants for nearly a century and a half.

Mr. Dango highlighted the uniqueness of the proposed drilling technique. He claimed it has been designed to ensure a consistent water supply regardless of seasonal changes, including equinoxes and solstices. The estimated cost of the project is between 500 and 520 million FCF. Dango sought support from the state for this significant undertaking.

After the meeting, Dango expressed his satisfaction with the discussions with Bassolma Bazié, who holds multiple ministerial roles including Minister of State, Minister of Civil Service, Labor, and Social Protection. The researcher, occasionally referred to as a "mad researcher" for his unconventional ideas, has previously discussed this water project in various media outlets.

In addition to the water project, Dango revealed in 2020 to the AIB his involvement in other innovative ventures. These include developing a scanner and an electromagnetic weapon capable of destroying targets over a vast area. Dango asserted that such technology, if developed since 1999, could have had applications in mine detection, tank destruction, and noiseless target elimination over extensive ranges.
