Ouagadougou: A delegation from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), led by Dr. Christoph R¶vekamp, head of the ‘Energy and Green Hydrogen Technologies’ division, handed over cutting-edge scientific equipment worth 200 million FCFA to Joseph KI-ZERBO University on Thursday, and laid the foundation stone of a building to be used for research activities in energy and green hydrogen.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation list includes weather stations, air quality analyzers, conductivity meters, data loggers, a photometer, pyranometers, albedometers, a solar tracker, PV solar module analyzers, and solarimeters. It also consists of a didactic mechanical test bench, precision balances, organic solar modules, and a complete green hydrogen production system, which includes a PEM fuel cell, PEM electrolyser, hydrogen storage system, water purifier, and pressure regulator.
The building under construction is described as a ground floor plus one floor (R+1) type, consisting of 10 offices, 2 classrooms, a doctoral room, a laboratory, stores, and a meeting room. This donation is part of the projects implemented by the West African Scientific Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL), funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
