Burkina Faso Honorary Consul Encourages Burkinabe Students in Morocco

Tangier: The Honorary Consul of Burkina Faso in Tangier, Mohsine Sefrioui, recently addressed Burkinabe students in Kenitra, urging them to excel in their studies and contribute to their country’s future. During the Burkimbila Cultural Day, organized by Burkinabe students in Morocco, Sefrioui emphasized the importance of education and the dynamic leadership of Burkina Faso’s President Ibrahim Traor©.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Mohsine Sefrioui was appointed as the Honorary Consul on December 18, 2024, by the Council of Ministers. He is poised to take office soon. Sefrioui, who studied in the United States, shared his personal experience of studying abroad and the value of bringing expertise back to one’s home country. He encouraged the students to follow a similar path and become future leaders who will drive Burkina Faso’s development.

Sefrioui highlighted the pivotal stage that Burkina Faso is undergoing under President Traor©’s leadership. He stressed the importance of the youth’s commitment to the country’s development and shared his optimism for a promising future. He also reminded the students of the significance of preserving their culture and heritage amid modernization.

The honorary consulate in Tangier, opened on December 18, 2024, serves to protect and defend the interests of Burkinabe residing in the region, which is significant for international migration. Sefrioui underscored the consulate’s role in connecting the Burkinabe community with local administrations.

The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to Morocco, Mamadou Coulibaly, endorsed Sefrioui’s involvement in the cultural event, recognizing him as a social reference and advocate for the Burkinabe community. Coulibaly praised Sefrioui’s longstanding efforts in supporting Burkinabe migrants and students, even prior to his official appointment.
