TUGUVA: A 35-year-old man is thought to have drowned in the Okavango River at Tuguva village situated some 130 kilometres west of Rundu on Monday afternoon.
Paulus Kapumburu had apparently gone to the river to fetch water, but did not return to his home.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Kavango Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator, Deputy Commissioner Willie Bampton told Nampa on Tuesday that after realising that Kapumburu had not come back home, family members went to the river to look for him.
They however only found his clothes and the bucket which he had taken with him on the riverbank.
The deceased’s body was recovered near Tuguva on Tuesday morning.
The police have opened an inquest docket into the incident.
