NNA – Speaker of the House Nabih Berri met on Tuesday afternoon at Ein Tineh residence with the head of the Syrian Social National Party, MP Assaad Hardan, and former minister Ali Qanso, where they broached the current situation in Lebanon and the region.
On emerging, MP Hardan voiced support to reinforcing all state institutions, rejecting any effort to undermine their role.
The Lawmaker also underlined the need for the election of the president of the republic, saying ‘there should be a head for the state.’
“We are with the serious pursuit of reconciliation and agreement on the republic presidency to enable Lebanon to move to the safety shores,” said Hardan.
Separately, Speaker Berri met with the Greek Ambassador to Lebanon who came on a courtesy visit.
Berri then met with World Bank Group Vice President for the Middle East and North Africa, Hafez Ghanem, Middle East Administrative Director, Farid Balhaj and Assistant Vice President Olivier Lavinal. Talks reportedly dwelt on the projects undertaken by the World Bank.
