The table in the annex provides the answers to questions 1 and 3, showing the amounts of humanitarian aid pledges and contributions from the Union, EU Member States and third parties to the Middle East and Africa.
The pledges in the table might not coincide with those announced in the context of international donor conferences but they are pledges that have been reliably reported in the source data used:
|—||The source data used for EU Member States and third parties’ figures is Unocha’s humanitarian aid reporting platform, which is the Financial Tracking Service (FTS). Since figures extracted from FTS are originally in USD, they have been converted into EUR using the average exchange rate for the last 10 years (USD/EUR=0.7605; Source: European Central bank).|
|—||The source data used for the Union figures is the Commission’s humanitarian aid reporting platform, which is the European Emergency Disaster Response Information System (EDRIS). Figures extracted from EDRIS are in EUR.|
The table reflects humanitarian aid pledges and contributions from 2005 to 2015, as of 15 October 2015.
Question 2 (amount committed by the Council and the European Council) needs to be addressed to the particular institutions.
