ANC TO MAKE SURE FOOD SECURITY NOT COMPROMISED IN LAND EXPROPRIATION

POLOKWANE, SOUTH AFRICA– South Africa’s ruling party, the African National Congress (ANC), will make sure that food security and the economy will not be compromised when land is expropriated, says its presodent, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ramapphosa, who is South Africa’s Deputy President, aid this when he addressed the Vatsonga Macahanga traditional leaders in Mavambe near Malamulele, about 190 kilometres from the Limpopo provincial capital, Polokwane, over the weekend.

Ramaphosa was leading the ANC’s top six leaders, engaging with traditional leaders in various parts of the province this past weekend.

Ramaphosa says the country’s former apartheid regime had robbed people of their land and it was time for that to be reversed.

As we take land, we must make sure that the economy and food security is not compromised and food production is not destroyed. Those are the things to look out for, they are not going to be impediments and stop us. There are things that need to be done and we need to be decisive because the original sin was committed when our land was taken.
