Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis to visit Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) (05-08 July 2021)

The Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis will carry out an official visit to the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania between July 5 and July 8, 2021, where he will have a series of meetings with his counterparts from the three countries.
The Alternate Minister’s tour will start in Tallinn, Estonia, where he will arrive on July 5 to meet with the Estonian Foreign Ministry’s Undersecretary for European Affairs, Mr. M. Volmer. Mr Varvitsiotis will then travel to Riga, Latvia, on July 6, where he will meet with the Latvian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Edgars Rinkevics and the Parliamentary Secretary of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Zanda Kalnina-Lukasevica. At the last stop of his tour, in Vilnius, Lithuania, where he will arrive on July 7, Mr. Varvitsiotis will have talks with the Lithuanian Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs, Mr. Pranckevicius, as well as with the Lithuanian Minister of the Interior, Ms. Bilotaite and the Vice-Minister of the Interior, Mr. Abramavicius.
The management of the European resources of the Recovery Fund, the joint coordination in the address of the pandemic, the Conference on the Future of Europe, the EU enlargement in the Western Balkans as well as migration and the developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Eastern Europe are the key issues to be discussed during bilateral contacts.
Mr. Varvitsiotis’ official visit to Lithuania will be combined with his participation, representing Greece, in the 4th Ukraine Reform Conference to be held in Vilnius on July 7.
On the sidelines of the Conference, the Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs will have a bilateral meeting with the Swiss Vice President and Head of the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ignazio Cassis.
