Gerringong and Shellharbour will return to first grade in a revamped seven team South Coast competition to be begin with a one-day round in a fortnight.
Shellharbour and Gerringong will develop their youthful squads in the top grade after playing lower grades last season, with South Coast ending its five team Premier League concept.
‘’Shellharbour and Gerringong want to develop their young squads and it’s great to have a seven team top grade comp,’’ South Coast cricket president Tony Panecasio said.
Albion Park will also have a young squad and elected not to re-join first grade, while Kookas will play first grade but won’t field a second grade side.
In Rd 1 on September 24, Kookas host Gerringong at Oakleigh Park, Lake Illawarra host The Rail at Howard Fowles Oval and defending one-day champs Oak Flats are at home to Shellharbour at Geoff Shaw Oval. Kiama have the bye. The Illawarra comp starts October 1.
