Rome: The 177th Session of the Council of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which was held on 7 April 2025, began its session with the participation of the member countries of the organization.
According to Ethiopian News Agency, the five-day session is expected to discuss mainly review the strategic frameworks of the organization, global food security challenges and drivers, and FAO emergency interventions in crisis settings.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Italy and Permanent Representative to the UN Food and Agricultural Organization, World Food Program, and International Fund for Agricultural Development of Ethiopia, Ambassador Demitu Hambissa is attending the session of the council and expects to deliver a speech on behalf of Africa on global food security challenges and drivers.
